I find it so cute to see little girls in their African print skirts and dresses. My daughter is 2 now and owns 2 dresses made in African prints. I love making her wear it to the daycare even though my husband doesn’t feel 100% about it: “you’re gonna make her feel weird” What he doesn’t know is that African prints have become so popular that my girl is a “celebrity” at the daycare when she wears her colorful dresses! At 2 years old, I don’t find her too young to be taught how beautiful and rich the culture that she comes from is. It just has to be done in a tasteful manner.
Speaking of good taste, I’m thrilled to introduce this brand to you today: Mademoiselle Blé! I’m telling you, heaven on earth! I haven’t had the chance to personally try yet, but It won’t be long before I get my girl one of these cuties. Mademoiselle Blé is a French brand created by Johanna Blé who is originally from Côte d’Ivoire. Johanna is passionate about fashion and created the brand a few years ago without even having attended any type of fashion schools. The dresses are all designed by her and sewn by Edith and Evelyne, two women based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
I am totally in love with these super cute pieces for girls 2 to 12 years old. The website is in French but extremely easy to navigate. You can find everything from dresses, skirts, jumpsuits to backpacks and headbands. Johanna designs 2 collections every year and ships worldwide.
Please go and visit the website, you won’t be disappointed.
