I don’t know about you, living in other parts of the world, but here, in Montreal, It’s mid-July, we have no summer and we don’t know what to call what we have. It’s hot one day and cool the following day! No BBQs or pool parties can be planned so we wake up every morning hoping to have sunshine a few hours that day.
With such weather, you have to pull out what I call the “easy looks” that go from sunshine to rain in a split second. This look is one of them! I fell in love with the top from Montreal-based brand Cocody Collections. This Canadian brand by multi-ethnic couple Dave and Eva has a name that reminds me of my childhood. It’s that name that 1st brought me to the brand. Cocody is the borough in which I grew up in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Cocody Collections offers clothing in a minimalist style mixing afro-Caribbean influences with western designs for a classy result.
As for the top, it’s “easy” just like I like it. Wear it with a pair of blue jeans, white jeans – like I did – or black jeggings and you’re good to go! Sneakers? High heels? Flats? Your call!
Now should we talk about the Rebecca Minkoff crossbody or what? This bag is the only one of my bags that I have to literally hide from my 2-year-old twins! Whenever they can put their little hands on it it’s a free for all, grabbing and pulling the pom-poms on the bag to the point of almost damaging it. It’s like candy to them! I got it 3 months ago on my last trip to the States. The US dollar was so high compared to the Canadian dollar that I barely shopped but I couldn’t have left without this gem from Saks Fitfh Avenue. It’s the perfect summer (or kinda-summer) bag for a quick shopping spree during the day or a girls night out. How about the see-through ALDO shoes! They’re cute and super comfortable. A must-have ladies!
