We’re absolutely loving the new hat collection of the Nigerian brand, 24. They decided to showcase 4 major Nigerian tribes with a collection of 4 different caps. Each one of those caps carries a symbol representing Benin, Igbo, Yorunba and Hausa tribes.
The super trendy caps are made of leather, suede and mesh. Don’t we love it when fashion also has a purpose of educating and serves as a vessel for unity?
Here is what the 4 symbols mean:
Arewa
Representing the Hausa people, who are known to be of high values and strong beliefs.
Queen Idia
The 1st Queen mother of Benin City, known for fighting numerous times for the cause of her son.
Oodua
A symbol of kingship representing the Yoruba people.
The Eagle’s Feather
Representing the strength and tenacity of the Igbo people.
