I’m a big believer in the importance of women empowering women. Since I started blogging, I must admit that I’ve reached out to quit a few bloggers. I’m extremely happy and positively surprised with the level of help that some women are ready to give. They’ve answered my questions, agreed to talk to me on the phone and given me precious pieces of advice.
I follow a lot of fashion bloggers on Instagram but I still managed to come up with a list of 10 of my favorite fashionistas that I look up to when it comes to blogging. In the process of defining your own style, it is often suggested to identify 3 to 5 fashion icons whose style you would love to have. People often think of celebrities (for me it will always be the one and only Olivia Palermo!) but fashion bloggers who have, over the past few years, established themselves as trendsetters are more and more considered like fashion icons. The 10 bloggers that I’m presenting to you today all have one thing in common: colorful wardrobes. My absolute happiness!
1 – J’Adore Fashion
Stella Uzo, who’ve recently revealed her baby bump on Instagram is the epitome of class. This Atlanta-based blogger, who launched her blog back in 2008 mixes prints and patterns like no other. Her instagram account is a piece of art. With Stella, it’s work outfits, casual outfits or ball gowns, all with class and sophistication.
2 – Awed by Monica
Another girl from Atlanta who doesn’t cease to amaze us with her whimsical and eclectic choices of clothing. Monica Awed-Etuk dares to wear and it works for her. She chooses what I call statement pieces and mixes unpredictable pieces of clothing together for a result to die for. She recently spent a few days in Lagos, Nigeria and the clothes that she brought back from the local designers confirms the fact that she knows what she is talking about.

5 – Scheena Donia
Our Frenchy – originally from Gabon – is one of my favorite African fashion aficionados. She lives and breathes African fashion and is 100% for the small designer trying to make a name for himself. On this list, Scheena is the only one that I would not qualify as a color addict. She goes for neutral tones and it suits her to the t. This single mother of 4 shares her looks but also her reality with her children. We love that about her.
